| This is a screen shot from program 'LinBox' which
solves the Schrödinger Equation live and numerically for many linear systems (including potentials you can define and draw with the mouse). The example shows a chain of 6 (metallic) atoms. The emerging 'band structure', Valence Band sitting in the Coulomb wells, next the Conduction Band, both with 6 fold splitting, is well visible in the distributions of energy eigenvalues. During the calculation all eigenfunctions are computed and drawn as well. |
